About me
Hello my name is Betney Treefrog and I live with my older brother and younger brother. My mother died and my father, that irresponsible man, had officially died in my heart. My father, Android Dorray is the same age as my mom, Heather Treefrog. My mother was deeply in love with my father since Grade 10. Since my mom is born in one of the richest family in District 12, my father decided to marry my mother by the age of 25. Just after my younger brother, Ryee was born, my father decided to ditch three innocent children of his own and my weak mother who was yet recovered. After three month, my father came back and forced my weak mother to sign the divorce paper which agreed that my father will take 75% of the sharing property (Such as money) and soon he married another woman. My mother died two weeks after the divorce, the day when my father remarried. Even though my mother left a fair amount of money in her will to all three of us, it still couldn't keep us warm for long. My older brother decided to ditch school work and is now the Coal Company's head worker. For the sake of saving money, I, had to pretend to be a boy and enrolled into a free boy school with my little brother which is provided by the mayor of District 12. There is a free boy school program because the government wants more educated boy who can help in the District 12's main coal programs.
After school, I would go to the mayor's house and take care of Mage, even though I'm even smaller than her. I would do all the chores in the Mayor's house. In return, I would be able to take the leftovers of the dinner in Mayor's house. The Mayor insisted to pay me a handful of strawberries every week which I gracefully accepted. Sometimes, there wouldn't be any leftovers because the Mayor had limited food too; the only difference between them and us was that they'll never get hungry, nor will they be absolutely full.
Tomorrow is the annual Reaping Day, I'm quite worried. Since my brother is already working very hard for our family, I do not allow him to put his name in anymore. I think that I should take some of the responsibility, so whenever we need oil and grain; I would volunteer to put my name in. There's no way I would let my little brother to put his name in either then the one that he has to put in every year. By now, I'm only 14 but I already have 36 names in the bowl.
Oh, I must go to school now~!

Letter to president snow
Dear not-so-kind President Snow,
I’m Betney Treefrog from district twelve; I don’t think you would recognize my name. Oh of course, how stupid of me to even have thoughts on that! How can you, a magnificent and luxurious President of Panem, remember an insignificant pauper from the poorest district? I’m a tiny ant comparing to you, the powerful God who can put a person in a death sentence with just a short and sharp snap. Do you care about our suffering back in District 12? All of us are in hunger!! Many people from our district died of hunger and most people are in hunger everyday! While you people just casually throwing out all the delicious meals that you call as ‘leftovers’. In our eyes, those leftovers can save a whole family that is in hunger!! And where did you go? Of course you wouldn’t care about us, all you care is about your dazzling Capitol and how to torture us even more with the annual Hunger Games!! Talking about Hunger Games, I strongly disagree with it! With your pretty words, “Hunger Games are a reminder to al the Districts about their betraying and that they should be thankful for what the Capitol gave to them.” What should we be thanking for? For the lack of food sources you gave us? For the cruel and ruthless slaughter and damage you did on all the Districts and the poor District 13 that no longer exists? Hunger games are just another way to show that you are powerful; we are not thankful like you think we are. Every sacrifice is just adding more hates on the Capitol from the people in the districts. The best way to stop us from rebellion is not forcing us to sacrifice two tributes to the Hunger Games; in fact, it makes everything goes in the opposite way! Make us suffer is not a good idea, it’s the worst idea ever! The rebellion wasn’t just the districts’ fault; Capitol should be responsible for part of it too! If you treat us well and with full justice, there wouldn’t be any reasons for us to rebel. If you want to be the historical President in the whole Panem history, please stop the Hunger Games before it goes too far!
With an empty tummy,
Betney Treefrog
