1200-1400                   now-a-days

“I hate to hear you talk about all women as if they were fine ladies instead of rational creatures. None of us want to be in calm waters all our lives.”

-Jane Austen, Persuasion

In the time period of 1200-1400s, women have no rights at all. One example of this is that Romeo, in the story of Romeo and Juliet, would have been allowed to visit prositutes, even if he was already married Juliet. On the other hand, Juliet was expected to be a virgin until her wedding night, and then she has to stay completely faithful to her husband.
"Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging."

-Sonia Sotomayor

Now-a-days, women are allowed to do almost everything a man can do. A woman can work, vote in political issues, go to school and do sports. But, the original wrong thinking are still in some people's mind. Women are still limited to do some sports as they are understood as not good enough. People are still somewhat judged by their gender.
